Description Nasi Lemak Nasi Lemak is a Malay term. Nasi means rice, and lemak means fragrant rice cooked in rich and creamy coconut milk with fragrant leaves. It is a very popular dish in Malaysia; so much so that even most Malaysian airlines will serve it on their flights. So, to start off with, you definitely need the “nasi lemak” (coconut rice)- Recipe here. Then it is up to you how you would like to add the accompaniments. Traditionally, the basic accompaniment will be sambal! The rest will consist of sambal udang, sambal squid, fried anchovies, fried peanuts, hard boil eggs, acar awak, curries, cucumbers etc to go with the rice.
